Announcing Text to Animated 3D Characters with Generative AI

Today we’re announcing an exciting new feature for our generative AI for 3D - Generative Animation! This is the first generative AI to create fully animated game-ready 3D assets from text. 

With just a few words, you can now not only create an entire, game-ready asset (this means it has all the key elements to be used by industry-leading game engines like Unreal Engine and Unity), but it now has animations as well:

Today we’re announcing a significant milestone and expansion of our generative AI for 3D feature set.

Anyone can now - easily - generate amazing animations with just a few words!

This is an incredible milestone for creators who not only want a usable 3D asset but who want to see their 3D asset come to life with motion.

So how does this work?

In our previous post, we announced our generative AI for 3D - which focused on generating game-ready models from text:

Now, you can also choose to add to your model by generating animations the exact same way - by typing the action you want!

Our generative AI now enables you to magically create game-ready models and animations - with just a few words!

This enables you to instantly share and use 3D models you just generated for your game, virtual world, or other creative projects.

To illustrate that our AI-generated character is a game-ready asset that can run in a gaming engine, here is an example of our generated character running in an existing (non-AI-based) gaming environment running in Unreal Engine.

While there are currently many exciting new tools using generative AI, none of them yet produce game-ready 3D assets. Until now.

A: Great question! The quick answer is yes.

We’ve developed the first generative AI for game-ready 3D assets - this means that the 3D models that are produced are recognized by industry-standard game engines and other applications and can be further manipulated or directly used.

We’ve also hinted at powerful new tools centered around the Generate > Edit > Share workflow.
